How Is Liposuction Performed?
Surgical liposuction is completed in an outpatient setting using general anesthesia. A very small incision is placed in the skin so a cannula will be placed. The cannula is a tool that makes it easier to loosen the fatty tissue that is being vacuumed out. After the chosen amounts of fat have been eliminated, Dr. Derrick will seal the incision. Based on the amount of sections treated, your surgery may last several hours. In the dedicated area for recovery, your post-op team will help manage any discomfort and care for your treated areas until your discharge.
